Article:

YoYP is an opportunity to celebrate the amazing young personalities, talents, and achievers that make up Scotland. It’s all about inspiring our nation through its young people’s ideas, attitudes and ambitions.

This year long programme of events, activities and ideas will give young people in Scotland the opportunity to show the world what they’re made of and The Boys' Brigade is looking to inspire as many Scots (young and old) to get involved as much as possible.

Themes

Activity for the year will centre around the following themes:

  • Culture
  • Education
  • Enterprise and Regeneration
  • Equality and Discrimination
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Participation

There is already a dedicated web page to provide you with more information about the designated year:

It might be of interest to know that Church of Scotland churches are being encouraged to hold special services on January 28th to mark the beginning of the Year of Young People. You could consider how The Boys’ Brigade can get involved and to promote our partnership with the church.

Can you help support how BB makes the most of 2018? There are still some spaces on our YoYP Advisory Group. In addition, the Church of Scotland is seeking a couple of people to help with plans for the General Assembly. Any seniors or young leaders (16 -25) interested in either of these opportunities and who have ideas and are passionate about The Boys’ Brigade’s work should email yoyp2018@boys-brigade.org.uk
